Why is a physical address required to port my number to FaxBetter?

Porting of numbers requires a physical street address to confirm that the person who is requesting the number is truly that person. This is to prevent your number from being fraudulently ported away from you. If even one character that you enter does not match the address on file with the losing carrier, the port will be rejected. Losing carriers are particularly picky about these matches because they want to frustrate you to the point where you to cancel your port request.
